Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. Her birth date was 25, December, 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox studied flute, piano as well as harpsichord at Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 70s. She lived off of the student allowance, and relied in part-time jobs to increase her income. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and contemplated a possible alternative direction she would take. Lennox played flute with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. The group broke up shortly before their appearance in I.T.V's talent show New Faces. Between 1977 and 1980, she sang in The Tourists. A British pop group. It was during this time that she met Dave Stewart with whom she formed the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox started working on her debut solo album Diva and it was released in 1992. It became a huge success both commercially and critically. Her first solo album, which was released in conjunction with her artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled "Now I'm letting You Go." Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer and songwriter who was born on the 25th of December 1954. The Tourists were a new-wave band that achieved some recognition in the 1970s.
