Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and businesswoman. She is most famous for her part as Emily Fields in the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. After her accomplishments with modeling, dance and acting, she decided to take acting lessons. Mitchell was able to land commercials along with guest roles in TV series. Her breakthrough came but it was when she was cast in Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. The critics and the fans alike praised her talents as an actress. The well-known actress established herself in the film industry with films like DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. The role she played in the psychological thriller series "You" led to more fame. As well as acting, she has ventured into the world of writing. With Michaela Blayne, Mitchell co-authored the novel for adults titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell was born on April 10, 1987 and was brought up within Ontario, Canada to parents Mark Mitchell and Precious Garcia. Her mother is Filipina, while her father has Irish and Scottish descent. Mitchell is the cousin of Lea Salonga, the famous actor in musical theater and singer. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary prior to transferring to West Vancouver Secondary School. In her teens, Mitchell was already a model for companies in many nations. She traveled to Barcelona as well as Bangkok after which she returned to Toronto to study acting.
